Long Time, No See

So I realize it has been a long time since I've posted, again, but I didn't realize its been over a month!  Sorry about that, loyal followers (Aunt Wiz, UJ, Grandma Pance, and Aunt Linda :))

Lets play catch-up, shall we?

Mike and I went to North Carolina for Dave and Amy's wedding.  Great time!

So nice to hang out with my pregnant buddy, Sarah.
Her baby arrived on Tuesday, a week before his due date.
I hope my baby gets the memo that all the cool kids are arriving early.
Miss Independent can now feed herself pretty much anything with her spoon and fork.  Good timing my dear, since Mommy's hands are going to be extra busy soon!

Baby #2 continues to grow like crazy!  This was taken at 36 weeks.

Family trip to the zoo with the cousins.  Willa had a good time showing Daddy around since he was a first-timer there.

We've had a lot of fun this past month, but unfortunately most of it wasn't documented on 'film.'  I better charge up the camera battery because it is going to be working overtime once Baby arrives, which I am hoping happens sooner than later!  :)

Mmmm....Maybe Next Time

We had high hopes of getting some swimming in this weekend, but the weather just wouldn't cooperate.  The pool heater was on alllllll weekend so the water was nice and warm when a few rays broke through the clouds on Monday.  Willa was all set to go in her new swimming suit.

But, it was still too cold for her.  On went the cover up and out came the water table.

Maybe next time.

Its a Jungle Out There!

Your know that neighbor who's flowerbeds look like a jungle and just make the whole street, or in this case cul-de-sac, look hideous?  Yeah, we were that neighbor.  Mike is in charge of the lawn and it looks great.  I am in charge of the overcrowded flowerbeds and they looked, well, overcrowded.  Thankfully, our family descended upon our yard on Sunday and whipped it into shape.  See?

Ah, no more ugly shrub and no more crowding daffodils

Thank you Mike and Papa Gaz for pulling all of the weeds Sunday morning and laying all of the mulch Sunday evening.  Thank you Uncle Jack, Uncle Paul, and my mom for taking orders from Kimmer Boss Thunder, as my family affectionately calls me, as you dug up 22 dozen daffodil bulbs, shrubs,  and huge day lily plants.  Thank you dad for running to get more mulch for the mulchers and thank you Grandma Pance and Aunt Wiz for taking care of Willa Bean all day so I could be outside 'supervising.'

There used to be several more lily plants squeezed in there.
Talk about claustrophobia!

At the end of the day Mike rewarded everyone for their hard work with pulled pork that he had smoked all day long.  It was deeeee-licious.

Clean and orderly.  Just the way I like my plants.

It feels so great to have the yard looking orderly again and it feels even better to have spent the day with our wonderful family.  We are so lucky and so grateful for each of you, including those of you who couldn't be there Sunday.

"Coloring"

Our little artist loves her crayons, just like her Grandma Lewis.  The best part is she doesn't eat them anymore!  Dare I say we are ready to move on to finger paint?

She has also been 'talking' up a storm lately.  Here she was telling me all about her abstract work.  She titled it "woosha-woosha-woosha."  Sorry folks, we're keeping this one for our private collection so it is not for sale.

Easter

What's that you say?  Easter was almost a month ago?  Yes, I realize I'm a little behind.

Anyhow, we traveled to A-Town to spend Easter with the Tonies family.  It was a fun filled weekend, as usual.  Although, I must say, 'fun with the family' has taken on a whole new meaning since little kids entered the picture.  Instead of staying up late playing drinking games, we took the kiddos to Monkey Joe's, went for a walk after our Easter dinner, and played at the park.  Okay, and there was still some staying up late and a few drinks.  This is the Tonies family after all. :)

Family Love

We spent this past weekend in St. Louis and were so happy to spend time with Great Grandma and Grandpa Tonies.  As you can see in the picture below, Willa LOVES her great grandparents.

Willa also got to spend time playing with her cousin Colleen Saturday morning. Lucky girl!

The Perfect Reminder

My Gram loved cardinals and every time I see one I think of her.  They usually appear at the perfect time too.  Take for example lunch time today.  Willa is getting her molars and mealtimes are particularly painful.  Just when she was screaming while trying to eat and I was wondering how long it will take for these darn teeth to come in so I can get my happy girl back, a cardinal appeared right in the dining room window to remind me that everything is going to be okay.

Save the Daffodils!

With snow in the forecast for Wednesday Willa and I decided to save the daffodils from freezing and bring spring inside.

"Ah, that was hard work.  Better take a rest."
